The flight change policy of Sun Country states that although airfares (including add-ons like seat preference and luggage) cannot be reimbursed, they may be changed or cancelled prior to departure with the deduction of applicable change fees. However, changes made at least 60 days before departure are free of charge.

Each passenger and each section of the travel are subject to the changing fees. You are liable for any price difference if your new flight is more expensive. On the other hand, if your new airfare is less expensive, you’ll get a flight voucher that has to be used within a year of the purchase date.

Sun Country Flight Change Policy Due to Illness

Sun Country reserves the right to extend the validity duration of your ticket by up to 30 days past the initial cap if you, a member of your immediate family, or a travelling companion is unable to do so owing to illness or physical disability.

It would help if you did the following actions in order to utilize this choice:

• Obtain a doctor’s written certification attesting to your disease or inability.
• The certificate must expressly state that the mentioned illness or incapacity prevents you from finishing your trip before the initial time limit expires.
• Send Sun Country the certificate, your ticket, and any necessary receipts.
• A Sun Country representative must sign the certificate to attest to the fact that you have been given permission to travel longer.

Change Sun Country Flight Process

Flight-Only Booking:

• You can make changes or cancellations over the phone or online using My Trips.
• Applicable for reservations made directly through FlightAssistance.com or Sun Country (online, by phone, or at the ticket office).
• Modifying the departure date or cancelling are examples of changes.
• Call us if you need to make any other changes.

Flight and hotel booking:

• Phone calls can be used to modify or cancel reservations.
• If you want to change or cancel your hotel and flight arrangements, get in touch with Sun Country directly.

Flight and rental car booking:

• If the reservation was made directly via SunCountry.com, changes or cancellations can be made online through My Trips.
• Only adjustments to the trip date can be made online.
• Call Sun Country if you need to make any other modifications.

Reservation for a Car Only:

• You can make changes or cancellations over the phone or online at the Avis/Budget website.
• Applicable when making a direct reservation through Sun Country’s preferred partners, Budget and Avis.
• Enter your last name and the confirmation number you obtained when booking the tickets if you need to make adjustments online.

How to Change Your Sun Country Flight Online

• Visit SunCountry.com to access Sun Country’s official website.
• Select “My Trips” from the menu.
• Enter the necessary data:
  • Last Name
  • 6-character Reservation Code
• Select “Manage My Trip” from the menu.
• Choose the particular flight that you want to modify.
• In order to proceed with cancelling the flight, follow the on-screen instructions.

Sun Country Change Fee Waiver

When making a reservation, the Change Fee Waiver can be chosen. You can change your flight reservation once without paying a fee for the adjustment. Up to an hour prior to the departure of your first flight, modifications must be made. If the new aeroplane ticket costs more, you will also be responsible for additional fees, taxes, or optional services. The regular flight change fee will apply to any further changes made after using the change fee waiver.

Information about the Change Fee Waiver:

• It only applies to reservations for flights.
• The waiver can be used once to make changes to a flight reservation without paying a change fee.
• If you make your reservation directly through SunCountry.com, the gateway for Sun Country travel agents, or Sun Country’s customer service, you can only add the waiver at the time of booking.
• All travellers listed on the reservation must pay the waiver.
• It permits adjustments to the flight date, time, and origin/destination until at least one hour before the first flight’s departure.
• Certain flights are eligible for the waiver.
• You will receive a non-refundable and non-transferable flight credit for future travel if the new flight is less expensive.
• Since adjustments or cancellations made 60 days or more before departure are free, the waiver may be used from 59 days up to the last hour before departure.

 Sun Country Flight Change Fee

• There are no fees for adjustments to flights made at least 60 days before travel.
• A change fee of USD 36 per segment will be charged for flights changed between 59 and 14 days prior to departure.
• A change fee of USD 79 per segment will be charged for flights changed between 13 and 0 days prior to departure.

Redeem a Sun Country Flight Credit

• Please go to SunCountry.com.
• Follow the standard booking procedure to make your new reservation.
• Find and select the “Use a Sun Country flight credit or voucher” option on the Review and Pay page.
• Fill in the required information as directed:
• Give the last name of every traveller listed on the original reservation.
• Type in the Flight Credit Code, a 6-character code.
• Select “Apply Credit” from the menu.
• Repeat the preceding step for each additional flight credit you have if you have more than one.
• Enter your credit card information when requested if you need to make another payment.
• Pick “Accept & Pay” from the menu.

 How to Redeem a Sun Country Flight Voucher

• Please go to SunCountry.com.
• Booking your new vacation is similar to booking others.
• Use the 17-digit flight voucher code provided to you in the email you received when the flight voucher was issued when making your reservation.
• Find and select the “Use a Sun Country flight credit or voucher” option on the Review and Pay page.
• Enter the 17-digit flight voucher code into the designated field.
• Select “Apply Voucher” from the menu.
• Repeat the preceding process for each additional flight voucher if you have any.
• Enter your credit card information when prompted if you still need to make a payment.
• Pick “Accept & Pay” from the menu.

How to know whether I have a flight credit or voucher?

Follow the guidelines below or get help from Sun Country’s reservations team to use a flight credit or flight voucher for a new reservation. Sun Country provided flight credits for itinerary modifications, cancellations, and operational hiccups prior to January 20, 2023. Flight vouchers have taken the place of flight credits as of January 20, 2024.

• You can check the email you received when it was issued to see if you have a flight credit or a flight voucher. The type of credit or voucher offered, as well as the amount, will be included in the email.
• Go to the Payments tab to use a flight credit or a flight voucher during the booking process.
• Your last name should be entered if you have a flight credit.
• Enter the reservation code from your initial flight itinerary, a 6-character credit code.
